While I could write or draw now, *cracks knuckles* let’s compile that christmas wishlist.

Done a tally of what I’ve compiled for the list so far, and I got;

  • 9 books (all plant-related unsurprisingly)
  • 6 Lavender-based products (either for sleep, culinary use, or just to bring more of the smell into things like clothes)
  • 3 decoratives/collectables (which are the least likely to be gotten from this wishlist)
  • 2 clothing related items (plant-print shirts, ballcap, nothing too fancy, just uncommon)
  • 3 Miscellaneous items

Question is though… is that enough for a wishlist with variety???

tonight at the botany conference i was talking to this other undergrad i met whos super into aquatic plants and he was like ‘o have you ever seen the aquatic plant that looks like a net?? the managascar lace plant???’ and i was like ‘wait what the fuck what???’ and i looked it up and

the scientific name is Aponogeton madagascariensis. it has problems with algae growing over the gaps and blocking the actual photosynthic ‘netting’ tissue, which like…..i mean….i can see why like holy shit…..im honestly so jarred by this like that isn’t allowed! stop doing that!

Another Update

Well I’ve got a phone call into an attorney that has been recommended. I can’t finalize my GoFundMe until I get all the numbers together.

In the mean time I had some prints made in a hope of raising money. A good early response went away quickly and as yet the prints are not yet paid for.

Because I suffer from agoraphobia, that worsens with stress, which as long time followers will know I’ve been under quite a bit recently, the possibility of getting one of the few available jobs is nonexistent.

My whole month’s money was gone very quickly because of 5 spay surgeries. And then with having to get money to both Xcel and Denver water to keep things from being turned off it’s amazing I’ve made it this far.

My own coffers are near empty. I think I have about $7.76 and my 20lb bag of rice has about 3 cups left.

I extended my sale until November 1st because it sort of fell flat at first. Unfortunately that sale has thus far been under whelmingly utilized.

I’m thinking of doing 10 7"x 10" commissions for a highly discounted $60 each.

If you want one of these commissions you can pay via

paypal.me/KateHavekost

Give in the notes the flower you want painted and your name and shipping address in the notes. Also donations and private sales can be made via PayPal as well.

The sale is

Thank you all for all the various kinds of support you have offered and thank you for your kindness.

1 of 2 different bee/insect hotels in Cuddy Gardens. These will never stop being fascinating. Also the “roof” having a green roof of sedums is a nice touch.

(Note to self; the roofing soil mix was gravely/gritty, probably for sharp drainage)

I wonder if this keeps them out of your home?

If bugs be settling in your house, I don’t think these hotels will deter them much better; bug hotels don’t come with central heating lol.

Still worth getting if you love beneficial insects like mason bees, leafcutter bees, orchard bees and the like.
