Monkshood or Aconitum carmichaelii loves the cool nights of fall. This beauty is also sometimes called wolfsbane because all parts of the plant are extremely poisonous and it was once used to poison arrows to kill wolves. When working with this plant take extra caution to wear gloves and avoid all skin contact with the plants’s juices. #plantfacts #plants #wolfsbane (at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bpj3SlxjF5W/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=13wg6oi1i1v0y
Still flowering into the autumn with wonderful large, single, pale pink to white flowers is Rosa ‘Sally Holmes’ (shrub rose). This repeat flowering shrub rose has upright, strong growth with few thorns and healthy foliage. It was introduced in 1976.
I’m probably imagining it but I swear some of my cacti have been growing/bulking up since they got repotted and been given a more routine watering regime (once every 1-2 weeks, either way they get checked if they need water every midweek/monday for sure).
Between it being autumn and the fact that they just got repotted it just seems a bit too soon for it to be the case of them taking a growth spurt.
Only within the family so sis and mom; to be clear I was asked for this wishlist, and also I do not expect ALL of these to end up being gifted at christmas, I would only expect a small fraction to be gotten; the variety is so that if one thing cannot be found, other things can be chosen instead for purchase.
I’ve been told in the past that my selections in my wishlists tend to be a bit tricky to acquire….
