turtlesandfrogs:

One of my roommates brought home a bouquet the other day that had dahlias in it, and I decided to try starting new dahlias from the flowers. I’ve never done this before, and I haven’t looked to see if others do it, so it’ll be interesting to see how it turns out. I started three stems- one in soil and two in water. The smallest one is in soil, and seems to be doing well. The ones in water seem to be sprouting something root-like, but the edges of their leaves are yellowing, so I decided to plant one of them in soil. They obviously won’t have enough of a tuber to go dormant by first frost, so they’ll be house plants until next spring.

I also can’t remember what color the blooms are, so hopefully they’re something I like.
