In other news, I’ve potted up the lithops I got in the mail the other day. The upper left one I got for free, and was really shriveled. It still is. I’ve been told to spray it often to help it build the water stores it’ll need to undergo a healthy split & support new leaf growth.
The other three look pretty good, so I am hopeful that they’ll do well.
BTW, for anybody unfamiliar with Himalayan blackberry, this is an example of the kind of came they make when established. I’ve seen thicker, I’ve seen thornier, but it gives you a general idea.
I’ve also seen them sprout a new plant from an inch long section of cane- part of the reason why I’m not weed whacking them this time.
Someone gifted me with two mother of thousands starts, and both of them are already making babies when they themselves only have six leaves each! What an incredible plant. I’ve wanted one since I was ten, so I’m pretty stoked.
Guys, I planted some jackfruit seeds some number of weeks ago, not really expecting them to do anything, but they sprouted! The avocado hasn’t yet, but it’s got time. It’ll be interesting to see how these guys do as houseplants.
Creeping Inch Plant (Callisia repens), ‘Pale Puma’ (Tradescantia pallida), and a white & green arrowhead (Syngonium podophyllum). And thus the collection grows.
More saffron! Six flowers harvested so far, at least three more are coming. I’m so glad these bloomed this year, I had just about given up waiting on them.
Anybody interested in doing some plant trades via the mail? I’m in the U.S., and don’t ship internationally. I’m looking for tropical houseplants that I don’t have yet.
