Shenkin in my mind has changed a lot since his initial creation (even if I can’t draw/write him worth a shit). In his created infancy he was merely a twisted antagonist; one who mocks others and stomps them down for his own pleasure, villain for sake of villainry, as good as it gets for a shallow villain. Hunting down who he pleases out of just the pleasure of bloodlust.
After a while he fell into the backround of my head into an OC dormancy, I didn’t need him, more fleshed out OCs were at the mental forefront.
But as my worldview has grown/expanded (some ways brighter, some ways darker) he had reemerged, but changed. His nature to mock and torture in a sense is still much of his nature, but how it’s driven has somewhat changed. He has become more trickster than villain in OC world position. He judges, he challenges, he crosses lines he feels no man should have to cross (though as a demon he feels that is a line easy for him to cross in comparison). While chaotic still, he has more law in his nature, he does not hunt those down for just fun, he does it to those he feels need to be ripped out of the social food chain for its benefit. Those he finds just he will challenge to grow stronger, while those he feels unjust merely become prey in his ally.
Even now though he is still a character tuned very differently from the molds of my other characters and the stories they make. It may be why I have yet to really get Shenkin drawn/written in a way that satisfies.
