What’s your oldest plant?

thevelvetpelican:

I have a Norfolk pine my Grandpa bought for me at least 12 years ago.  It’s starting to take over the living room but I’d never get rid of it.

Oldest houseplant? The Jade plant was my first (a gift from one of my former EA highschool teachers) and therefor oldest in my personal hands as it was gifted at the start of College. The Dracanea and Hoyas are the second oldest of the collection, being brought in when the opportunity arose. So probably at least 5 years old give or take for the oldest, maybe even 7 years.

Oldest outdoor plant….. trickier to pin, the Lily of the Valley (Convallaria majalis) and Sweet Woodruff (Galium odoratum) were probably the first residents in my woodland garden (and are becoming threatening garden monsters much to my chagrin) as I remember introducing them to said garden during its infancy. Which was in high school so 10 years would not be a stretch.
