The New England Aster I planted this spring is just starting to bloom. Fingers crossed that it’s happy enough to self-seed! As a poor gardener, choosing plants that will readily multiply is a big part of my money-saving strategy. 😅

I only planted one Cup Plant this spring because they apparently reproduce quite prolifically. Even with only one plant, it’s attracting swarms of bumblebees with all the open, easily accessible blooms.

The Great Blue Lobelia I planted this spring is starting to bloom much to my excitement! Originally I wanted to plant a lot more of these and the closely related Cardinal Flower but I wasn’t sure if I had the ideal soil conditions in my garden so I started with a single plant this year as an experiment. ☺️
