Texas mountain laurel (Dermatophyllum secundiflorum) buds! It’s not spring until they’re open.

Primulina ‘Loki’ (what leaves! Silvery white in real life), and my poor Glottiphyllum. The flower has been around for over a week, but it will only open fully when the weather is warm enough, so this is the first time I’ve been able to get a decent picture.
More ferns! I didn’t think the third one looked much like one, but it grew where the more conventionally ferny ferns did, so I decided to look it up. It’s Wright’s cliffbrake, Pellaea wrightiana. Like many of these ferns, it has disjunct habitat across the state, favoring rocky, more acidic substrates.
More orchid show photos. Blc. Pamela Finney ‘Victory’ had enormous flowers; they were definitely bigger than my paph, so likely 8+ inches across. I also loved the huge Ludisia discolor plants. My favorite entry of all was actually Angraecum distichum, at the bottom. What awesome leaves!
Pothos ‘Manjula’.
A rainy February day at the botanical garden.
Lotsa rocks and a black vulture (Coragyps atratus).
Crassula streyi, graptoveria ‘Bella’, and begonia ‘Charm’. I had a ‘Charm’ a while back, and it took a ridiculous amount of neglect before it finally died. I hope to do better by this one.
Wildflower Center pt. 2.
Lowes’ has been stocking some gorgeous succulents in the last week. Unfortunately none of the echeverias in the solo shots have labels! If you know what they might be, please chime in. I thought the dark one could be ‘Dark Moon’, but I’ve since seen labeled ‘Dark Moon’s that look somewhat different. Maybe ‘Painted Frills’?
Also pictured: Hazel, on a supervised visit outside to sniff things.
