I’ve been seeing these plants in a swamped area at my complex. I tried pulling one up, but it’s firmly rooted, so I let it be. More protection for the tadpoles living there, I guess.
This is such a slow and difficult grower. The newer leaves that developed under my care started to wrinkle and brown up, so I chopped it off. I placed it in another pot after it calloused, but it just died.
I’m so happy to have this! I’ve been obsessing over hoyas lately. Their flowers are so beautiful, but since I can’t make them bloom all year round, I decided to get one with some foliage that really stands out.
I got my orchid cactus nearly five months ago and it’s finally been showing some growth aside from its roots! I also placed a cutting of my indian corn cob beside it just because.
I just noticed iontha has deactivated. iontha was my first follower:(
WAIT THEY DEACTIVATED!?- no wait if I remember it was either them or another plantblr that had left tumblr at a certain point for reasons icr….. but still, they were so nice oTL
Hey guys! I’m still here! I’m just super fickle about social media (hence deactivating) and I had a bout of intimidation and depression seeing people evolve their hobby into an internship/job while I felt stuck. I’m still in retail, but I’m no longer moping about it.
Update: a lot of plants have died ¯_(ツ)_/¯ but I’ve gotten a few newer ones that seem happy atm lol
I’m still in Miami, but I’m moving out of my parent’s place and moving up to Orlando sometime in February. Super exciting and scary!
I’m getting into witchcraft and herbalism?? Idk man. I’m just really feelin it.
My dog is graying! I got super sad when I noticed it, but it motivates me to give him more love and attention 💖🐶💖
SHE LIVES
Also its cool I can relate to the hobby to job depressiony thing (while I’m trying to have my own plant nursery as a job I don’t feel like I’ve gotten that far at all tbh).
Also RIP to the plant fatalities ofn 2017 (and then some). Lot of my own favourite plants have since perished to misfortune.
I’ve had this for about two years and this is the first time it’s ever flowered. I don’t plan on pollinating it (not that I even know if it can self pollinate), since I’m pretty happy with it just getting bigger and bigger.
But man, this is so pretty. This is the first wholly white flower I’ve ever had and it’s so fascinating.
