I can’t tell if my steady mild follower drop is due to pornbots, people being booted from tumblr (or outright leaving tumblr and deleting their accounts), or if its cause my content has been so unlike my normal content output that they had enough and just unfollowed instead .___.;

Y’know maybe on the 17th while I’m dead here I should put some effort in and post a lot of my old gardening/plant posts from here onto Twitter.

But das a lotta preprep required if I want to be sure I’m not looking up my tumblr on that day for said posts though…

With the queue empty you may be noticing that there are a lot less plant posts between the other post types (art, fandoms, etc.) when it comes to my reblogs.

Normally I have a personal policy (cause humans like giving ourselves weird rules) where I make sure a plant/gardening post/reblog to 5 posts/reblogs are thrown in between 1-3 non-plant-gardening posts, but for the moment that isn’t gonna be the case till a little past December 17th (Dec 17 being where I’ll keep dead silent / logged off for the entire day, part of why my queue needed to be fully empty asap). Part of it is that due to the fact tumblr is messing so many people over, that I’m wanting to make as much content of others’ known as I see around, like a bulletin board of various content, for networking and to make others’ presences and moves to other sites better known.

Some of you probably already figured out that by now that is why “Gato’s going rogue”, but I wanted to make that clear anyways.

Guess while this is all going to heck I have at least ONE confession I must spill pertaining to this blog in particular;

The Lily icon/avatar I use? The original plants/bulbs have been dead/gone from my gardens for at least 2+ years (possibly 4 years). Either due to the odd winters we had or due to hungry animals digging around the area (or possibly during the early start of the Red Lily Beetle infestations), the cultivar declined down to only a few bulblets, which also eventually perished. Doubt I could or would get them again. While they were very sturdy plants I honestly do not know what cultivar they were- when purchased they were labelled as Lilium nepalense which of course I discovered they were not (it took 2-3 years before they even matured to flowering size did I finally discover they were mislabelleds).

I keep the avatar as is partially due to ~personal branding~, the fact that white is a very compatable colour for “holiday/event avatar edits”, as well as for the fact that it’d be hard to find a good flower to change to for the blog’s banner (which has that lily as the centerpiece) if I could even find the original source PSD file to do so.

While the chances of my blogs getting nuked is extremely slim, I’m getting a bad feeling that the site finally croaking may be becoming a larger possibility (even IF the final nail on Tumblr’s coffin is taking its sweet time, luckily). Guess I should look into backing up my art and plant blogs;

I really don’t want to lose my archive of plant journaling posts and doodles, even if I were to move onto another site (such as Twitter). 5 years of being on this site is a long time to be blogging after all. Even if nothing is likely to be lost, I’d rather not take the chance.
