I’ve come to realize that the only reason why I have a credit card is to support my plant addiction

Oops my hand slipped and accidentally swiped my credit card

Not the best fiddle leaf I’ve ever seen but they’re just so damn cheap at Home Depot that I can’t resist, especially when I’m about to move into an apartment (hopefully) with a crap ton of sunshine

Could you recommended some trustworthy plant care resources?

megansplants:

Ooo definitely!

My very favorite is Houseplant 411. They haven’t led me astray yet! But, if you like succulents, they’re focused more on tropical plants and don’t have many resources about succulents.

I also love @houseplantcentral! Their tumblr is beautiful and their website is amazing as well.

If you want help identifying or crowd-sourced information, Houzz is is great in their houseplant AND succulents forum.

People get REAL riled up about plants on Houzz though so be prepared for people to make some pretty funny and combative comments about plants on your posts. People always hate on me for using clear plastic cups like I’m some kind of serial houseplant abuser for using clear cups.

Oh god I haven’t heard reccomendation of Houzz (formerly GardenWeb) forums in aaaages. Agreed they can be either amusing or abrasive depending on various factors.

Blue Star Fern (Phlebodium aureum)

Using tupperware as a greenhouse seems to be going well! Lots of new sprouts.

I trimmed back a bunch of the damaged fronds, and letting the tupperware and soil dry out a little bit today. It would be a bummer if I finally got my fern growing and then killed it with mold or rot.

Beetle Peperomia (Peperomia quadrangularis)

This peperomia wasn’t really thriving for a long time. I kept it in bright indirect light, and it was just slowly, slowly dying.

So, I moved it to the window sill, where it gets bright direct sunshine. And look at all of the little baby sprouts!!
