Saw a version of this image from Jeff Skrentny but it’s even more striking in person. There are cages up around new shrubs planted at LaBagh Woods to protect them from the over-abundance of deer. As you can see, other plants, like these phlox, also get shelter from the omnivorous maws of the white-tailed menace. Since there aren’t any predators here, the deer population is all outta wack. Part of a healthy ecosystem sometimes involves large animals getting chewed on. (at LaBagh Woods)
To reiterate an earlier post, these are two different species but, clearly, the flower morphology is not diagnostic. Blue-eyed grasses are not grass but in the iris family, the most superior family of all. I believe the first is Sisyrinchium albidum and the second is S. montanum.
While beautiful I have nightmares of plant ID akin to this

There were only like three shooting star blossoms here last year. (at Kiwanis Park)

Carrion flower doesn’t look like rotting flesh but it sure smells like it! (at Harms Woods)

Wood betony would like to take issue with you using “parasite” as an insult. (at Harms Woods)

My iced coffee tasted a little preachy today.
If I wasn’t going to bed rn Uhhhhhhhhhh I’d have some contextual questions
