If I had any doubt there are coyotes in the area, this morning dispelled them. This one looked healthy and confident.
What’s hardest to communicate is what it’s like to walk a mile or so surrounded by this until your skull feels like it’s full of golden marmalade. This post is an effort to communicate that.
See the dark thing toward the lower right in the top picture? Zooming in further, it turned out to be this: a red-tailed hawk having a meal. A mouse? I’ll never know.
