Sweet Gum beauty.
When I was little, my grandparents had a Sweet Gum tree in their yard (the tree is still alive). I always loved the spiky seed pods, and the burgundy and purple colors the leaves would turn in autumn. I spent many days under those branches, and those moments will always be fond memories. Now, I have a Sweet Gum tree of my own, and the autumn leaves are just as beautiful and artistic as those that filled my childhood.

Most of the color is gone, the hillsides are mostly bare, and what’s left is brown. But in the evening sunshine, even the brown seems to glow. As sad as I am to see summer gone, I’m excited for winter adventures! It’s time to explore the depths!

Due to a series of unfortunate events, I didn’t get to plant anything in my raised beds this year. Nature sure had some interesting plans though! I let the weeds grow up all summer, then as it came to an end, my beds were bursting with colors! (: They turned out to be so beautiful, even with no veggies! ❤
