Lance-leaved sundew (drosera adelae)
As I previously mentioned about these little ones, they reproduce asexually, so there is no definite reason behind why they still produce flowers. One theory is that it gives the plant the opportunity for genetic variability if the surrounding environments were to change. Whether they have a purpose or not, it’s very clear that they are strikingly beautiful!
Lance-leaved sundew (drosera adelae)
This asexual sundew reproduces by putting out tiny plantlets, causing it to grow into large clumps.
Octopus agave (agave vilmoriniana)
Ten years in the making, this amazing plant unveils its flower stem. This specimen was well over 15 feet high, but they can be up to 30! Unfortunately, this spectacular show also indicates that the plant will soon die, after using its remaining energy to create small plantlets.
Nepenthes Kona (alata x truncata)
This relatively new hybrid was just added to the carnivorous greenhouse that I frequent. I’m excited to see how it progresses. Lookin’ good so far!
Ornamental Peach (prunus persica ‘bonfire’)
While the fruit from this decorative tree is inedible, the flowers smell good enough to eat!
