Madeira again, a much closer look at the dozens of tiny flowers all down the stem.

A sea of ferns with young maple saplings coming up above, while in the back an older tree is draped with moss and limned by light from above. This was a really nice place.

It is interesting that this St. Augustine is all-blue where other grasses are often magenta instead.
For Earth Day, here is a comparison of grape hyacinth in visible and ultraviolet-induced visible fluorescence. This is the first year I’ve actually grown enough of these to feel okay cutting one inflorescence.

I was asked to do some more comparisons.
This is a pair of oxalis leaves from my garden.
Besides the obvious color differences, you can clearly see the hairs at the edges and the stem glow, as do any small damage spots on the leaves themselves.
This small white flower grows in pots on the porch. I don’t know what it is, but it’s basically immortal.
