Highlighting the work of talented designers, be they professionals or homeowners, is always a thrill for me on my tours and the fundamental reason I started CarexTours. On my last tour in Germany, we explored Ebertpark in Ludwigshafen to see the terrific designs of Harald Sauer (1st 3 photos) & then went to the ABB corporate campus in Ladenburg where landscape architect Bettina Jaugstetter introduced us to her dynamic plantings with very low maintenance costs (last 3 images). Inspiring.

Christopher Lloyd in The Well-Tempered Garden (1970), described Gunnera’s giant inflorescences as “a cross between a vast fleshy fir cone and a fertility symbol”. Well, yes. That’s about right. CarexTours: http://www.carexdesign.com/tours/
