Oops. My strawberry cutting did a thing. At least I know it’s happy and well situated despite being transplanted 200 miles north.

I cut off the blooms in an attempt to convince it to save energy but I’m not sure whether that will actually work or not? I think being turned from an outdoor to an indoor plant has convinced it that it is summer.

I would think the flower removal would work. It tends to be a common practice in the horticultural field to remove flowers off of freshly transplanted plants so that they may focus their growth elsewhere, as flowers oftentimes are high priority for a plant once flowers start, even if it’s at the cost of the plant’s health.

Did some more plant photography featuring my new and younger plants!

  1. Sedum rubrotinctum
  2. Star fruit seedling. (Averrhoa carambola)
  3. Opuntia ficus-indica seedlings
  4. Astrophytum seedlings (~1.5 months old)
  5. More Astrophytums
  6. Supermarket Kiwi seedlings
  7. Baby Echeveria propagated from a leaf cutting

I am not going to burden anyone with separate posts so here are all of my seedlings so far!

  1. Arugula
  2. The smollest basil
  3. Lithops spp
  4. Mesembryanthemum cystallinum
  5. Astrophytum spp
  6. The propagator area in all of its sinister purple glory

The arugula is sort of cheating because  I didn’t use the propagator for them but all the rest were germinated this week using it.

Went on my weekly plant shop outing in Fremont! Nothing too unusual that hasn’t been there but here are some cute friends I saw. I haven’t seen a Cotyledon flower before so that was neat.

Also pictured: The cool aloe tree they got earlier this fall, a bunch of Astrophytum ornatums, and a cool echeveria I’ve been thinking about getting for a few months that I’m still not decided on.
