…ok nevermind the lilacs are too frozen to bounce back up

some of the shrubs made a comeback but this hawthorn wasn’t so lucky

Painful damage, but a lil clean-pruning in the spring should help the damaged shrubbery bounce back up. Generally well-established shrubs/trees are pretty tenacious..

In other news, I’ve potted up the lithops I got in the mail the other day. The upper left one I got for free, and was really shriveled. It still is. I’ve been told to spray it often to help it build the water stores it’ll need to undergo a healthy split & support new leaf growth.

The other three look pretty good, so I am hopeful that they’ll do well.

BTW, for anybody unfamiliar with Himalayan blackberry, this is an example of the kind of came they make when established. I’ve seen thicker, I’ve seen thornier, but it gives you a general idea.

I’ve also seen them sprout a new plant from an inch long section of cane- part of the reason why I’m not weed whacking them this time.

THAT’S AS THICK AS A LARGE ROSE STEM TF?!?
