This is my plant shelf (curtain closed) 💚 it looks especially pitiful after the spider mite massacre of ‘18. The shelf was $25 at Target. The ceiling light is an aquarium light I got when I was thinking of setting up an aquarium (changed my mind for now), it’s hanging from a couple of hooks by some fake leis I got at a picnic a few years ago xD the lower shelf is being lit by a clamp workshop light (I dig those reflectors), you can get them from walmart or amazon for around $7.
My newest bebe is the leafy top right one, it’s a scented geranium, it smells like peppermint candy and it’s leaves are as soft as a kitty cat’s tummy and it’s wonderful. Fortunately she is highly resistant to spider mites.
Wait… the queue is filled already again?! Jeezus the plantblr tag really is stuffed to the brim!
Heating season is upon us, and the orchids hate that dry air, so I tented the tank with some clear plastic to help keep the humidity in. I have the humidifier blowing some mist into there twice a day, but without the cover, it’s pretty much gone within an hour.
I tried having the maxillaria out of there, on the shelf nearby, and it just dehydrated to prune-like state within two weeks. So back it went.
The brassidium seems to be okay with dry air, as long as it gets its water. Semi-hydro’s been working out great for that one.
