Apparently the legendary bender oak at Morris fell apart and was removed. I wish they’d left some of it up as architectural elements. Think of the stories a slowly decomposing veteran tree stump covered with fungi can tell. Coarse woody debris is important and beautiful, and turning this spot into a turf patch feels so wrong.
