The beginning of a long and lovely journey. We’ve been exploring this land for years, but have only skimmed the surface. This particular spot is one of my favorites. A little clearing under the hemlocks, a stream wraps around the edge, and it’s just the most peaceful little spot. Many times I’ve sat here, motionless, in silence, and observed the forest, letting its thriving spirit sink into my bones. Today, it was extra beautiful, in the early morning sunlight. We invited a few friends who have never been here to come explore with us. I’m trying to also build up local appreciation and support for my cause. I’m trying to raise an army to protect this land.

I received the devastating news today. I had a feeling that it was bound to happen, and that’s why I took action when I did. Thank you for all the support so far! But I need you NOW more than ever. I’m meeting with the land owners on Friday (Oct. 12th, 2018), they are coming from out of state. I’m going to share my plans and ideas, and encourage them that there are better options for this beautiful property!

I am gathering messages/ thoughts from you all, on WHY NATURE PRESERVES ARE IMPORTANT, especially in regions that are already nearly destroyed by man. I am going to print these messages and share them with the land owners!
