Galapagos land iguana with Palo santo and Opuntia echios var. zacana / Seymour Norte, Galapagos, Ecuador
The land iguana is expertly adapted for the habitat on Seymour Norte; they feast on cactus pads and fruit – giving them sustenance throughout the dry season – and they are perfectly camouflaged with the red soil and prickly pear bark. In fact, I never noticed several of the iguanas in these shots until I reviewed them at home.
