Anemonopsis macrophylla. An uncommon species of woodland native to the Japanese island of Honshu, this dainty plant flowers in late summer. It’s a slow grower- about five years from seedling to flowering- but can also be propagated by division.
Give me this over an anemone any day.
I have seeds for this that I’ve been working on getting to germinate. Like a great deal of buttercup family members they germinate in a warm-cold-warm pattern.
You can get seeds for this from Chiltern, Gardens North, and Jellito.
Jellito also has a unique colour variant Anemonopsis macrophylla f. albiflora ‘White Swan’ available !!!
